As the adoption of renewable energy becomes increasingly crucial in addressing climate change, U.S. cities and states are implementing a variety of policies aimed at decarbonization, achieving net-zero emissions, and promoting renewable energy. This aspect of my work focuses on two key areas within this context. First, it examines the drivers behind the adoption of renewable energy policies, exploring the political, economic, and social factors that influence their implementation. Second, it investigates the potential inequities that may arise or be exacerbated by the development of clean energy infrastructure, assessing how these investments impact different communities and identifying the policy implementation challenges associated with ensuring equitable outcomes. I have examined these questions in the context of the U.S. energy and highway infrastructure sectors. I am also working on integrating my renewable energy research with farmer adaptation in agricultural systems by examining the human dimensions of agrivoltaics adoption. Stay tuned for more updates!
